Evening Writing Series- 4 Week Workshop with Thais Derich

Enjoy a series of peaceful evenings writing at The Hivery! You'll find that this beautiful and inspirational space gives you the clarity and time to sink into writing! Gain inspiration and writing style techniques from studying award-winning authors with workshop facilitator and writer, Thais Derich. Let's have fun, laugh, and smile while reaching our writing goals. Watch your writing grow with the support of a group, a commitment to you and your writing, and real deadlines. Watch the rest of your week make room for your writing. You'll receive the incredible power of goal setting and accountability. This workshop will push and stretch your writing in ways you didn't imagine. 

Who is it for: Writers at all different stages of their writing career from beginning to published author

What to expect: writing examples from well-loved books, writing prompts, goal-setting, sharing of your written work

You'll leave with: weekly goals, around 500-750 words written in class weekly, a study and practice of different types of writing style, a supportive writing community, the beginnings of scenes to work on the rest of the week.

Dates: Every Wednesday Evening for 4-weeks: Jan. 18, Jan 25, Feb. 1, Feb. 8. From 7-9 pm

About Thais:

Outside of supporting The Hivery and its amazing members, Thais is a writer and writing coach. Her memoir titled, Second Chance, is forthcoming on May 9, 2017 with She Writes Press. Derich’s past work has been published in Salon, BlogHer, BabyCenter, Literary Mama, Wild Violet Literary Magazine, Forge Journal, SFGate, the San Francisco Examiner, and performed live at the Listen to Your Mother show. A chapter of Second Chance was a finalist out of 500 entries for the Creative Non-Fiction Magazine’s baby anthology. She facilitates the monthly Writer's Circle at The Hivery and is a proud graduate of The Op-Ed Project's Writing for Change Seminar.
