What's Next: Five-Week Workshop Series

Explore positive change in your life! Whether you want to go back to work, back to school, start a business, or volunteer in a personally meaningful way, The Hivery’s What's Next program will help you to identify possibilities that match who you are, what you are naturally good at, and what excites you. This five-week course series is especially beneficial for women who crave being part of a supportive group of like-minded women that encourage ideas, next steps and action.

Individually and as a group, you will:

  • Learn how to recognize patterns that hold you back and identify threads that point to your purposeful work
  • Create new habits that support change
  • Get unstuck and motivated to get moving again
  • Deepen your understanding of who you are and what makes you tick

Course coaches, Laura Riordan, Ph.D. and Linda Lesem, M.S., use their extensive experience in coaching, psychology, and career counseling to guide participants.  All What’s Next participants will receive a What’s Next Toolkit chock-full of practical actions to support healthy change.

You don’t need to know what you want...it’s perfectly okay if you don’t. Our only expectation is that you show up fully and that you are ready and willing to explore positive change in your life!

GET UNSTUCK

First, you will need to understand why you are stuck. We will explain the myriad of environmental blocks, cultural themes and brain biases that keep you from moving forward. You will find out how to change your mindset, let go of expectations and clear away roadblocks.

OWN YOUR STRENGTHS + VALUES 

We begin with introductions, intentions and a variety of self-assessment explorations including the Myers Briggs (a Personality Typology Inventory).  Additionally, we will explore Interests through the Holland Code, Character Strengths, Skills, Values and a variety of creative exercises that will help you to brainstorm possibilities that are complementary to your true nature.

DESIGN A PLAN FOR CHANGE

We work together to intentionally create space for What’s Next by identifying what works and what no longer serves you.  You will life-design both your physical environment and relationships, to support your new chapter. This is a key component to organizing your life to get “unstuck” and make actual change.  We will guide you towards identifying the intersection of your core values, interests, strengths and skills.  This is the intersection where “good fit” possibilities reside.   

CREATE AN ACTION PLAN

We create actions and accountability around "trying things on."  Your Hivery What’s Next group will be there to help you investigate, network and find out if new action paths are a match with who you are and what you want to do. Finally, we give you practical tools and a variety of Positive Psychology techniques to create your own custom recipe for change.

What’s Next Facilitators: Linda Lesem, M.S., and Laura Riordan, Ph.D. 

Linda Lesem, M.S. is a trained therapist, career counselor and life coach, specializing in Positive Psychology, (the Science of Happiness). She works individually with clients in her own practice, and also facilitates groups for clients, who are yearning to create positive change in their lives! Linda created Moms In Transition, a workshop for Moms who are ready to take their next step, and are asking themselves…"What is next for me?"  This is a great way for a small group of women to be together, as they "get back in touch with who they are", and "what they want" and then start the process of creating a plan for themselves, whether that be re-entering the paid working world, going back to school or volunteering in personally meaningful ways.
 

Laura Riordan, Ph.D. is a holistic life coach who helps her clients find balance and meaningful success. With a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology and 20 years in the mind and body wellness industry, she brings wisdom, clarity and swiftness to her coaching practice. Laura began her career as the head of client services for retreat style resorts and spas, helping people center and refocus themselves while escaping the daily challenges of modern life. While overseeing spa programs and working as a massage therapist, she discovered that retreats were great at providing short-term relief, but they could not offer the kind of long-standing change that so many people needed.

Laura’s coaching practice evolved from the understanding that people need a guide to help identify their meaningful work, ground aha moments and give accountability and infrastructure to make lasting changes. Laura leverages her Ph.D. to help her clients find bigger versions of themselves and her strategic and practical skills to create a road map to get there.
