Join us for our casual and conversational Entrepreneur's Circle at The Hivery! This month, we welcome Laura Eberly, Director of Social Change at YWCA San Francisco + Marin, to lead our circle.
This is another way to make sure you're not going at the business of building a business on your own, but rather with the trusted circle of The Hivery community.
Laura joins us for an engaging discussion about creating environments where people can bring their unique experiences and strengths to the table, without minimizing core aspects of their identity or their culture – leading to more equitable environments and greater workplace satisfaction.
Many of us have very narrow comfort zones when it comes to conversations about race, and when we get out of our comfort zones we panic. The YWCA aims to help people find the growth zone in between. The YWCA's Inclusion Inventory uses proven tools to help people have a different conversation about identity, inclusion, and equity that focuses on where we realistically are and what it would take to really change. From personal to structural work, we all have things to learn and changes to make to build the just workplaces, organizations, and communities we need.
Key highlights and takeaways:
- New language for thinking about intercultural competency
- A greater comfort speaking about diversity/inclusion/equity
- Exercises to bring back to other groups and organizations who need guidance for these conversations
As seats are limited, advance online registration is required. Free for members. $30 for non-members. This is a BYO brown-bag lunch discussion. All are welcome!
