+ WHAT IS THE HIVERY?

The Hivery is a collaborative co-working space and inspiration lab, with emphasis on using kindness and creativity to explore, identify, and create a next chapter that aligns with your passions. We offer much more than just a desk and some coffee. In addition to a gorgeous workspace, we offer workshops, events, mixers, education, mentorship, collaboration, and more.

The Hivery is a community who supports, mentors, and connects amazing people who collaborate on their businesses, their passion projects, and their life transitions. Our members are doing all kinds of cool things, from consultants, writers, entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, designers, artists and more.

+ HOW DID THE HIVERY START?

The Hivery happened because of a belief in the unstoppable power of creating work together in a kind, creative, community-based way. More important than individual businesses, or personal journeys, The Hivery always seeks to foster the gift of inclusion. The most valuable part of our co-working lab is the moment when a member steps outside of the boundaries of him or herself and is met by a supportive community. This is where the real stuff happens.

+ WHERE IS THE HIVERY LOCATED?

38 Miller Ave, Suite #20, in lovely downtown Mill Valley, CA. We are located on the second floor of 38 Miller Avenue, in Suite #20. Enter at the stairs on the left side of the building.

+ WHY SHOULD SOMEONE JOIN THE HIVERY?

What Hivery members (both of our coworking space and community) have in common, is an inner drive to create a business or meaningful work that fuels them, challenges them, pushes their potential, and works in the intricacies of their lives. We love big ideas, shared know-how, tremendous kindness, time for creativity, a space for soul, and we are constantly blown away by the unstoppable power of those who come together to collaborate and support each other.

Not to mention, that we make "going to the office" a totally empowering and stylish experience. The Hivery is an art gallery environment, surrounded by creativity, and thoughtfully chic. We want our members to feel stylish, comfortable, creative, and yes, we make your office digs look very cool on your Instagram feed. You won't find a cooler headquarters for your work.

// MEMBERSHIP +EVENT QUESTIONS

+ DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO TAKE A WORKSHOP?

Absolutely not! We'd love to have you! Members get access to discounted pricing, so if you're looking for reason to join, that's a good one. Otherwise, just come! We have amazing events for the public (open to all!) each month. Event topics range from self-exploration, wellness, creative ventures, business launch, growth, funding, and career transitions. + WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AT A HIVERY WORKSHOP?

Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the event to check-in, get coffee, find your seat, etc. We aim to start our workshops right on time. Water, coffee, and tea are provided, courtesy of The Hivery.

+ WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO A WORKSHOP?

For most events, it is recommended that you bring a pen and journal. If there is a specific requirement for an event it will be emailed to you with your registration confirmation. We have all of the amenities to make sure you’re comfy and getting the most out of your time with us. If you need something when you arrive, just ask!

+ WHERE DO I PARK FOR MY WORKSHOP?

Please note that the meters around The Hivery are typically 2-hour meters. Our 2+hour workshops include a break for feeding the meter.

+ HOW MANY EVENTS DOES THE HIVERY PUT ON EACH WEEK?

The number of events The Hivery will host will vary by week, but there is never a dull week at The Hivery. Take a look at our calendar of events for more information!

+ WHAT IF I CAN'T ATTEND AN EVENT I REGISTERED FOR?

We know that life happens and things change. We will gladly offer you a full refund for a workshop/event when requested via email at events@thehivery.com at least seven days prior to the event. Please note that no refunds will be given to cancellations made within a week of a workshop or event.

For multi-part courses or series, we can't offer makeup classes or private teaching time for days missed, but we will provide all materials for self study (if applicable).

+ WHAT IF I'D LIKE TO HOST AN EVENT OR WORKSHOP OR SPEAK AT THE HIVERY?

We believe in the power of celebrating those who share their expertise, experience, skills, and knowledge. We always encourage members and non-members to host events and teach workshops at The Hivery. If you're interested in hosting an event at The Hivery, please learn more about our private event offerings here. If you are interested in applying to speak at The Hivery, please learn more about speaking opportunities here. We are very thoughtful about the curation and mix of topics that we offer to our community, so please submit your topic of expertise, and we will take it under careful consideration for future events.

+ WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP FEES?

You can learn more about our membership options here. Membership plans start at $35/month for our Virtual Membership, $95/month for Community Membership or $295/month for using our gorgeous workspace any eight days per month. We also have an Unlimited Membership for $395/month.

+ HOW DOES MEMBERSHIP WORK?

We want to offer flexibility, and we want to create community. If you decide to purchase our 8x per month membership, that means you can come ANY eight times that calendar month (weekdays). You never have to reserve or tell us in advance which days you're coming.

We know that weeks are varied and busy, so we provide you with the flexibility to plan your month and your workdays at The Hivery accordingly.

+ IS THERE AN APPLICATION PROCESS?

Nope. We don't review an application, require recommendations from an existing member, or any of that club-type mentality. Our doors are wide open, and we'd love to have you. Whoever you are. Just as you are. Seriously. Don't let our beautiful space fool you; the space is beautiful AND kind AND inclusive. We use beauty to inspire and celebrate the potential of humanity. If you're into that kind of thing, we're into you, too.

+ WHAT ABOUT INCLUSION?

We believe that inclusion is inclusion. You are welcome here for who you are, exactly as you are; we promise. Every person should come to The Hivery as their authentic self and The Hivery community exists to help you elevate your voice, be seen for who you are, and support you in making an impact.

+ WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT TO DO YET?

That's why we built the place. Creating our next chapters is a life-long process. None of us have it fully figured out yet. We treat your next chapter like a creative process. Explore it, paint over it, resist the urge to know the outcome, and take action that aligns with your talents and callings. And if/when you change your mind, change direction, or everything falls apart, we'll be right here for you then, too.

+ IS THERE A COMMITMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP?

We believe so strongly in the incredible power of community and we know that our memberss can support each other in a deeper way when they are committed to that mission of elevating community as a core value. For this reason, we ask for a 6-month commitment to our 8x-per month and unlimited-weekday members.

The co-working memberships include a one-time $75 joining fee. Our members love The Hivery and stay with our community. We think you will, too.

+ HOW DO I PAY FOR MY MEMBERSHIP TO THE HIVERY?

When you join The Hivery, we'll get you all set up on a recurring payment program via credit card. Membership fees are deducted on the first of the month. Join here.

+ ARE THERE DAY PASS MEMBERSHIPS AVAILABLE TO TRY THE HIVERY OUT?

Yes! You are welcome to join us for a tour any Monday or Friday at 11:30 am and then stay for the rest of the day to try working in the space (12 pm - 6 pm). This is for first-time visitors only.

Day passes cost $40/day and are only available to members. This includes Community Members, so if you're someone who only wants to use The Hivery a couple times per month, the Community Membership is a great option for you. Visiting from out of town? Contact us at info@TheHivery.com and we can certainly arrange for a day pass purchase!

+ CAN MEMBERS RESERVE CONFERENCE ROOM OR MEETING SPACE?

We love for our members to use our conference rooms for meetings with customers and clients. Flex and Unlimited Members have access to a shared calendar to book conference rooms and can reserve rooms for a maximum of two hours per day. Community Members can purchase a day pass for $40 and then pay an additional fee of $35-45/hour (depending on the room) to book conference rooms, for up to two hours per day. Due to space limitations, conference rooms are only available to current Hivery members. The Hivery is a space of mutual respect for all members, so we ask members to be considerate when booking conference rooms and bringing in guests, and kindly only use the time you need. + CAN I TALK ON THE PHONE OR IS THERE A DESIGNATED PHONE SPACE?

We have five conference rooms for taking conference calls, phone meetings, Skype, etc. and a new set of phone booths being unveiled very soon! And, we have a lovely outdoor area if you'd like to take your call out in the sunshine.

Our space is not meant to be silent like a library. We love your energy and know that you have to talk and communicate to feel comfy and to get stuff done. You're welcome to make phone calls in the public, co-working space. As long as it's a respectful volume, feel free to take it in the open co-working space or in one of our cozy nooks. Due to the open nature of our space, The Hivery isn't ideal for people in tele-sales or other phone-intensive work, where you need to be on the phone all day.

+ WHAT ARE THE MEMBER AMENITIES?

All members will have access to free coffee, tea, water and occasional healthy snacks in our space. We also have a printer, offics supplies, overnight storage, extra cords, and monitors for your use. We also have an onsite pilates and gyrotonic studio, Fitwise, that offers classes seven days per week and special packages for Hivery members. There is a mailing center and gift shop right downstairs that offers business mailing addresses and mailboxes (All Wrapped Up). And, the local community LOVES our members. Your membership comes with our Member Perk access with tons of discounts, free stuff, great services, etc. just for being part of The Hivery. Members also receive discounts on workshops at The Hivery, and attend our monthly Hivery Circle for free.

+ HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE MEMBER COMMUNITY?

We have free monthly member events, member lunches, gatherings, cocktail hours, and other activities frequently in the space (always optional, never any pressure). These are great opportunities to meet other members and learn more about the kind of work they're creating. If you're looking to meetup with someone specific or with a specific interest or skill, suggest a meeting on our community board and members will chime in.

+ WHAT TYPES OF MEMBERS OR COMPANIES ARE CURRENTLY IN THE SPACE?

We have members from all industries – anywhere from website development to public relations to nutrition to gaming engineering to fashion design and more! We also have a wide ranging variety of business in different stages of their development. Some are self-employed freelancers in the early stages of their business, while others are in later stages with well-established companies.

You don't have to have everything figured out to come to The Hivery. We love seekers, explorers, and those looking for their next chapter.

+ DO YOU HAVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS AT THE HIVERY?

Please see our current scholarship program here. We also have a work/exchange program at The Hivery for those who would love to be involved and use our co-working space, and would like to pay for their membership by providing much needed help around the office. Our work/exchange members are friendly, welcoming to other members, aren't afraid to troubleshoot, care deeply about maintaining our beautiful space, and are part of The Hivery family. + HOW DO I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?

We're sad to see you go, but we understand that moving, traveling, and life happens! We ask that you email your cancellation request to info@thehivery.com. We have a 30 day cancellation policy, so your cancellation will take effect on the 1st of the month after that 30 day notice period.
