A Fireside Conversation on Ambition, Identity, and the Hidden Cost of Achievement

In conversation with Alexandra “Daisy” Crosswell, PhD and Brooke Taylor, author of Healing the Success Wound

Join us for an intimate and thought-provoking evening exploring the emotional, psychological, and physiological cost of modern achievement culture.

For many high-achieving women, success has come through striving, proving, pushing through, and holding it all together. But beneath outward accomplishment, many feel exhausted, disconnected, overextended, or uncertain about how to sustain this pace of life and still care for themselves.

In this fireside conversation, author Brooke Taylor and stress scientist Alexandra “Daisy” Crosswell, PhD will explore the deeper patterns underneath achievement, including identity, worth, stress physiology, motherhood, leadership, and our culture's pressure to constantly perform.

Together, they will dive into:

  • The hidden emotional dynamics that drive overfunctioning and chronic striving

  • Why achievement can stop feeling meaningful, even when life looks successful from the outside

  • The relationship between stress, identity, ambition, and nervous system states

  • How women can pursue meaningful work and leadership without operating in chronic overdrive

  • What sustainable success and human capacity can look like instead

Come ready for an evening of honest conversation, reflection, insight, and connection with other women navigating similar questions around work, well-being, family, leadership, and personal evolution.

The evening will include:

  • A live fireside conversation with Brooke and Daisy

  • Audience Q&A

  • Books available for purchase and signing

  • Wine, light bites, and community connection

Everyone is welcome at this event.
